Oh, these Russians! Why did Americans lose faith in their country

Employees of the American magazine US News & World Report conducted a survey among residents of 80 countries. The results were used to compile the Top Countries ranking. The survey involved 21 thousand respondents, who were asked to answer questions that help determine the most powerful states on the planet.

Poll Results

The survey yielded unexpected results, especially in the United States. As it turned out, the Americans ceased to consider their country as the most powerful country in the world, putting China and Russia in the first place, respectively.

Although the majority of respondents in other countries put the USA first. Oddly enough, in China they consider Russia the most powerful state on the planet, after it they call the USA, and China follows them. It also turned out that nowhere do they consider their country to be the most powerful.

The survey was conducted in Russia, but unsuccessfully. For some reason, the staff of the American magazine failed to interview enough Russians to draw conclusions.

In India and Turkey, the first place was given to Russia. Researchers were especially surprised by the results in Turkey, which is an ally of the United States and a member of NATO.

The closest allies of the United States are Britain and Canada. In these countries, America is considered the most powerful power. Canadians put Germany in second place, and the British - Russia. Perhaps their choice was influenced by the information campaign about the poisoning of the Skripals.

What happened to the Americans?

If you compare the results of the ranking of 2018 with previous years, everything becomes even more interesting. Indeed, back in 2016, the Americans considered their country a world leader. By 2017, they had already removed her from this pedestal.

This can well be explained by the influence of the media on the minds. Economic China's successes delight Americans. They rightly consider China to be the first economy in the world.

With Russia it’s still more interesting. An information campaign accusing Russia of interfering in American elections has affected the minds of ordinary Americans. They believed that the Russian special services were involved in this, and made unexpected conclusions. They believe that only a great and powerful power can decide, instead of the Americans, which president will be at the head of their country. This was the reason for Russia's entry into second place in the United States.

The rating showed that the minds of ordinary people in different countries are being manipulated policy and the media, trying to achieve their goals. Therefore, it is important not only to absorb information, but to analyze it from the point of view of common sense, compare facts and draw conclusions.
