In Russia, resumed production of "fire tanks"
For the first time in two years, the Omsk Machine-Building Plant, part of the Uralvagonzavod, shipped another batch of special fire engines on the order of the Russian Defense Ministry. This view equipment Designed to contain and extinguish fires, as well as conduct rescue operations in particularly difficult conditions. The design of the new PSD was finalized based on the results of the previous series, which entered service in 2017.
The Russian "fire tank" is a unique development, which was based on units and assemblies of domestic T-72 and T-80. Weight SPM does not exceed 65 tons. On board is 25 m³ of water and extinguishing agent with a delivery range of up to 100 meters. The rescue vehicle is designed for 3 people. At the same time, the crew is reliably protected from adverse external factors by an armored cockpit and a life support system, which makes it possible to successfully carry out rescue operations in especially difficult conditions.
Developed in 2012, the machine was accepted for supply in 2015. Since 2016, the serial production of "fire tanks" at the Omsktransmash plant started. In 2019, unique SPMs demonstrated their capabilities at the Center-2019 exercises.
According to the General Director of the manufacturing plant Igor Lobov:
Our designers managed to create a universal machine for conducting rescue operations at arsenals, warehouses and storage bases for explosive substances.
