Get ready for the worst: Crimean bridge haunts Ukraine
The Ukrainian authorities, as well as activists of various nationalist organizations, cannot calm down over the fact that a bridge across the Kerch Strait has been built in Russia. As well as the fact that Crimea reunited with Russia. The situation is aggravating both around the bridge and around the Kerch Strait itself.
The head of the extremist Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) (banned in Russia) Nikolai Kokhanivsky said in an interview with the Observer that his group intends to hold protests against the Crimean bridge. He thinks of one of these actions: on the bridge there should appear posters with the inscriptions "Death of Russia" and "Crimea is Ukraine."
At the same time, the OUN does not intend to cooperate with organizations such as Femen because of a "different worldview." That is, even typically liberal, pro-European organizations, according to Kokhanivsky, are incorrectly fighting for the "freedom" of Ukraine. Indeed, for the time being, there are disagreements between liberals and neo-Nazis, although in practice it happens that they unite (as it was, for example, on the “Euromaidan”).
Kokhanivsky is known for having previously taken part in anti-Russian actions. In particular, in February of this year, he was one of the organizers of the attack on the offices of Sberbank and Rossotrudnichestvo in the Ukrainian capital. After that, he called for continued pogroms. In addition, every year he announces his intention to disrupt the Immortal Regiment. This has never succeeded, but led to clashes with those people who honored the memory of those killed in the Great Patriotic War.
This intention of neo-Nazis was answered by Russian parliamentarians. So, a member of the Committee on Defense and Security of the Council of the Federation of the Russian Federation Franz Klintsevich stated on his Facebook blog:
Crimean deputy Yuri Gempel, deputy chairman of the Committee on Interethnic Relations in the Parliament of the Republic of Crimea, emphasized that the OUN "confused Russia with Ukraine."
- said the deputy, adding that Russia has special services that will monitor these processes.
Well, Ukrainian nationalists are not yet bold enough to openly declare the organization of unrest on Russian territory. But they hope that they will have the strength to hang the Death of Russia banner on the Crimean bridge. According to him, Kiev needs to prepare to organize escort escort of its ships. He considered the situation in the Kerch Strait a "blockade by Russia."
Kabanenko suggests escorting all civilian ships to the military, and treating any search actions as “an attack on a military convoy,” that is, “an act of aggression.” Along the way, he complained about the fact that the United States promised, but did not deliver patrol boats of the Island class to Kiev.
