Poroshenko "spoiled" Russia at the wrong time

2
It happened by chance or not, but right on the day when Odessa remembered those who died four years ago in the House of Trade Unions, Kiev joined the US anti-Russian sanctions. On May 2, the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) decided to impose restrictive measures on Russia, similar to those previously applied by Washington.

In addition to accusations of the “Russian occupation” of Crimea, which were already snapping, there were others - those voiced all over the world by British Prime Minister Teresa May in connection with the “Skripals case”. With what side did it hurt the “non-stop” one, one can only guess - have the notorious “Novice” molecules reached Kiev?

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, speaking at a meeting of the NSDC, said:

By today's decision, we will coordinate the new sanctions that are being introduced with the sanctions of the United States of America against citizens and legal entities of the Russian Federation. They are associated both with the use of chemical weapons in the center of Europe - by Russia in the UK, and with the holding of illegal presidential elections in the occupied Crimea

The sanctions included people whom the authorities consider to be somehow connected with “Russian aggression”, with “persecution” of Ukrainian citizens, with “information and cyber-aggression”. Among them are deputies of the State Duma and the Federation Council of the Russian Federation.

Earlier, on April 6, the US Treasury Department published a list of Russian citizens and organizations that are subject to restrictions. It included 38 individuals and companies. Now Kiev has joined these sanctions (in addition to those that were introduced earlier).

During the same meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, Poroshenko made another statement: Kiev ceases to participate in the coordinating bodies of the CIS. He instructed Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin to prepare a decision according to which all representatives of Ukraine withdraw from the Commonwealth.

We are there, in a situation where actions are coordinated by the aggressor country, there is nothing to do

- emphasized Poroshenko.

Taking new anti-Russian steps on such a symbolic day, the head of the Kiev junta did not bother to remember his fellow citizens who died four years ago in Odessa. The US, introducing its sanctions against Russia and supporting Ukraine, also turns a blind eye to the monstrous atrocities that contributed to the strengthening of the current regime in Kiev.

But the Russian embassy in the United States remembered the victims and expressed indignation that the investigation into the tragedy was actually frozen and the perpetrators were not punished. The commentary of the diplomatic institution also contains a rebuke to Washington:

It is of deep concern that the United States, which proclaims itself to be almost a “measure” of intolerance to human rights violations, for the sake of political conjuncture hypocritically turn a blind eye to the flagrant cases of arbitrariness on the part of Ukrainian national radicals

Russian diplomats noted that the topic of Ukrainian crimes was not mentioned in the report of the US State Department on human rights in the world.

It remains to add that the topic of poisoning two people who survived continues to be raised when it comes to anti-Russian sanctions. And the topic of the deaths of dozens of people, and even those who received a terrible death, is hushed up. Nobody recalled Ukrainian diplomats, but, on the contrary, the same USA and the same Britain applauded the "young democracy".
