Three bloody scenarios for the Donbass
In Kiev, they continue to dream either about the return of Crimea, or about the liquidation of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics. One of the odious politicians, sadly "famous" for such statements - Deputy Minister for the so-called. “Temporarily occupied territories” and internally displaced persons Yuri Grymchak. Recently, he talked about how Ukraine will return Crimea to itself, and now he named as many as three ways to occupy the territories of Donbass liberated from the junta.
According to Grymchak, the Ukrainian authorities are considering various ways of “resolving the conflict in the Donbass” (this, of course, does not mean stopping the punitive operation in Kiev, but only intensifying it).
One of them is this: in two weeks the Ukrainian army “liberates” the territory of the DPR and LPR. But, Grymchak made a reservation, the authorities are unlikely to engage in a “military scenario” - because of fear of Russia.
What does he mean by “non-military scenarios”? The official called the other two plans “Croatian” (in fact, in order to contrast them with the “military” scenario, one really needs to be a representative of the Maidan authorities of Ukraine).
On the air of Gromadsky Radio, Grymchak recalled:
The official called the second "Croatian script." According to him, the Ukrainian government today considers it as the main one. This scenario provides for the introduction of UN peacekeepers into the territory of Donbass and the withdrawal of the supposedly “foreign troops” from there. This is followed by the disarmament of the defenders of the DPR and LPR, whom Grymchak called "militants," as well as the creation of a special temporary international administration that will transfer the Republic under the control of official Kiev.
This scenario also cannot be called peaceful, because it is unclear how those who fantasized it plan to disarm the DPR and LPR armies without resistance. And most importantly - if we assume that it will somehow be realized, then we can expect massive punitive actions against those who dared to express their will in a referendum on May 11, 2014, who worked in various structures of the People’s Republics, and indeed any person who is considered to be "a follower of the Russian world." Radically-minded nationalists have been looking forward to such reprisals for several years now.
Previously, the so-called ATO (“anti-terrorist operation”, as Petro Poroshenko called it) was replaced by a new format - “Operation of the combined forces”. It will differ from the previous one in that it will be headed not by the SBU, but by the military. At the same time, Poroshenko believes that the military personnel who shot at home civilians, ambulances, infrastructure facilities of Donbass, kindergartens and schools, showed "courage and heroism."
In the People's Republics, changing the format of an operation is fairly calm, since its essence does not change. So, the representative of the LPR in the political subgroup Rodion Miroshnik said:
