The military "race" of Russia and the USA: so who is ahead?

5
The tragic emergency at the test site near Severodvinsk, in the mouth of the US president, Donald Trump, received, to put it mildly, a rather peculiar interpretation. Speaking of what happened, the American leader, instead of expressing the only appropriate condolences in this case to the relatives of the deceased Rosatom employees, began to boast of “more advanced technology in this industry ”and almost mock at the tragedy:“ This is not good! ”

Well, Trump and ethics with morality are concepts that are clearly incompatible. By definition ... But we are not talking about that now. To what extent is the head of the White House right when attributing his country to primacy in the military-technical competition between the US and Russia? We'll figure out.

We can say that the Russian version of the answer to this question was exhaustively voiced by the press secretary of Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Peskov, who responded to Trump's blatant bragging by the statement that our engineers “are very far ahead of other countries” in the field of creating the latest weapons. And rather sarcastically reminded:

Vladimir Vladimirovich spoke about this more than once ...

Didn’t you hear that ?! It is clear that it would be inappropriate to expect other words from the Speaker of the President of Russia. Fortunately, the times when our country really adored engaging in public self-flagellation for the West’s fun have long passed ... However, due to the position held by him, someone may suspect Mr. Peskov of bias. Well, in order to clarify the situation as much as possible, it is perhaps worth giving the floor to the representatives of the United States. So we will do it, taking as a basis the materials of public speaking and publishing in the authoritative local mass media there.

“Russians are crazy! They will break us ... "

Quite revealing in terms of how exactly the Americans see the Russians as their own opponents and opponents, we can consider the press statement of Jeffrey Edmonds, a former CIA analyst in the past and even a member of the US National Security Council. Now this gentleman is working as an expert in the highly venerable Center for Marine Analysis (CNA), for state-run research in the interests of national security of the United States. The theme of Mr. Edmonds' thoughts is, again, a state of emergency near Severodvinsk. The most interesting thing is that scrupulously listing all the “military accidents” in our country and paying a generous tribute to the duty assurances that “the Russian infrastructure is outdated”, the expert finally admits:

The Russian army has a real culture of risk preparedness and aggressiveness, which the United States does not have at all.

Therefore, these crazy Russians will continue to drag forward, because nothing will stop them!

Edmonds' naval analytics counterpart, Lyle Goldstein, is even more specific and categorical. For example, he believes that the Navy, not only the United States, but the whole of NATO, together, will not last in a military conflict with Russia, if it arises in the Black Sea, and for one day. The Russians, he argues, in the first hours will melt the hell out of the entire North Atlantic Alliance fleet, within their reach, using not only coast-based missile systems and submarines, but also their own aircraft, "which is equipped with the latest anti-ship hypersonic missiles." By the way, Goldstein considers such a clash quite possible - if the United States and its allies do not stop "building up tensions with the Russians by staging provocative demonstrations on their shores, like the Sea Breeze-2019 exercises." Finally, he advises his compatriots to "finally get rid of the cult of aircraft carriers" and at least try to create a navy capable of competing with the Russian one.

Time lost irreparably

Timothy Walton, a fellow at the Washington Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments, takes the liberty of asserting himself in print and publicly to go even further in his generalizations and assessments: the United States will inevitably lose the war with Russia or China, start it now. He does not base his unflattering forecasts for the Pentagon at all on speculative conclusions, but on the data of several times conducted by American scientific centers working for defense, of the corresponding simulations of "clashes with these opponents." Walton, therefore, focuses on the critical lag of the United States from Russia in a number of varieties of modern weapons, and in his speech (published not just where, but in the New York Times) he begs Congress to “immediately allocate funding for the development of new missiles needed so that the United States regains its military advantage. ” Consequently, we don’t have to talk about it now ... However, even more than the conclusions of various analysts and experts (albeit representing very eminent organizations), the revelations of the scientists themselves working in the United States on defense topics are for us.

So, Joseph Jewell, who is not only an assistant professor at the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Purdue University, but also, more importantly, a member of the research team leading hypersonic technologies in the USA, is sure to at least catch up with Russian and Chinese scientists and engineers, he and his colleagues still have a "huge job." About any kind of "superiority" of Americans over them, there can even be no question! The scientist notes that over the past decade, the United States "has lost its leading position in the aerospace field." The situation, in his opinion, continues to deteriorate, and more quickly. According to statements of not only Jewell, but also of his other colleagues, the problem is that in the USA, at a certain stage, work on the same “hypersound” was simply abandoned, considering them too costly. Mark Lewis, an employee of the American Institute for Military Research, even calls a specific time frame when the country began work in this area - 2004. By 2010, he said, it was possible to approach the creation of an existing model. Here are just her last tests were carried out in 2013 ...

You cannot create something advanced by pausing for ten years!

- Lewis states, sadly summarizing:

It is not surprising that in the end we were “pushed” from the first place ...

Well, it remains either to write down all the gentlemen mentioned above in the “Kremlin propagandists”, or ... Simply admit that the rumors spread by Mr. Trump about the “superiority” of his country over Russia in creating the latest weapons are “greatly exaggerated,” as he wrote in his another time, a really great American. The third, in my opinion, is simply not given here.

As always. Experts scare everyone to allocate money.
Does Trump really have to express condolences after the explosion, according to Neukropny?
Every week we have not bad car accidents. Why does not it express?
And they, too - why do not our condolences?

The days of aircraft carriers passed, as the days of dinosaurs passed. Mammals and birds won. (See - submarines, planes and missiles).

After reading an article on the opinions of Western experts, I conclude that the Russians will throw all their caps over again, why are those aircraft carriers ...

An article "like a balm for the soul." Of course, when anyone is cornered, the outcome can be unpredictable. Therefore, Russia is always left with a loophole when they put pressure on Ukraine, Transnistria, when PMCs were bombed into trash in Syria. And mind you, nowhere in favor of Russia, nothing. Except for Crimea. As I say, you cannot drive into a corner.

This is very clear to us, but in fact we have three dozen almost a break.
