NASA and SpaceX plan to build an "orbital refueling" for missiles

2
On the eve it became known about a very unusual and complex project, the implementation of which will be undertaken by the American space agency, together with the Ilona Mask Corporation. According to sources, NASA and SpaceX plan to build a gas station for spacecraft right in low Earth orbit.

Similar Technology would make it possible to significantly simplify and reduce the cost of launches of spacecraft from ground platforms. As you know, the heavier and larger the rocket, the more expensive it costs to launch.

If in a near-earth orbit there will be a gas station, then the fuel tanks of the devices will not have to be filled to capacity. The amount of fuel that will be required to enter orbit will be sufficient. Then the ship will be able to refuel directly in space and continue its mission.

SpaceX, like NASA, does not hide its enthusiasm. Successful implementation of this project would open up new prospects for deep space exploration.

At the same time, it is worth noting that the realization of what was conceived in life may encounter serious obstacles. For example, hydrogen atoms in outer space can evaporate even through the metal shell of the fuel tank. There are also some technological difficulties associated with the very process of delivering fuel to orbit and refueling ships.

However, NASA is confident that cooperation with private companies will help to find a solution to the above problems and in the near future will open the way for space exploration.

Yes, let them build. They have nowhere to put money. And how and on what will they refuel these gas stations.

The game is not worth the candle.
