IL-112 becomes a priority for the Russian aircraft industry
The production of IL-112 aircraft will be a priority for the Voronezh Aircraft Plant. This was announced by the General Director of PJSC "Il" Yuri Grudinin.
This decision was made by the leadership of Ilyushin in connection with the high demand for the aforementioned light aircraft. Not only the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, but also several civilian airlines are interested in acquiring this transport carrier today. Thus, VASO designers are simultaneously engaged in both the manufacture of models for civil aviation and the assembly of aircraft, which fully comply with the standards of the military department.
Last year, the IL-112 was prepared for the first flight. In addition, the engineers collected a sample for static tests, which are currently being conducted at TsAGI. The only problem with the new aircraft, which was mentioned earlier, is its excessive weight.
However, as Grudinin emphasized, specialists are already engaged in its solution, which consists in redesigning using composites. It is assumed that lightweight aluminum-lithium alloys will be used in the design of the aircraft.
As for the advantages of the Russian light transporter, it is equipped with the latest TV7-117ST turboprop engine and has the ability to take off / land on an unprepared landing site. In addition, the aircraft consists entirely of domestic parts, which makes it independent of foreign component suppliers.
Recall that the IL-112 should replace the obsolete An-26. With a maximum load of 5 tons, the transporter is able to cover a distance of 1200 km. The demonstration of the new device can take place at the end of August as part of the MAKS-2019 air show.
