In Russia, they invented a traffic light that builds a laser wall in front of a "zebra"

Traffic accidents involving pedestrians, unfortunately, often happen. Especially often, such incidents occur at crossings. Fog, rain, poor lighting or the banal carelessness of a driver who did not stop in front of a “zebra” lead to sad consequences.

However, in the future, such cases can be minimized thanks to the innovative device from Rostec Corporation. Domestic engineers have developed a traffic light object that "puts" a laser wall in front of the transition. The device will be able to function both in automatic mode and controlled by software.

The essence of the innovation is as follows: the device will project a light barrier in the form of parallel lines at the junctions. The latter, in turn, will warn drivers for 100-200 meters that there is a zebra ahead. The main advantage of this notification method is that the signal from the device is visible not only in the dark, but also in difficult weather conditions (rain, fog).

However, the benefits of the brainchild of Rostec Corporation are not limited to this. According to the developers, they intend to make the new device universal by equipping it with a video analytics camera, an environmental sensor, an access point to a wireless network and an icing assessment system for the roadway.

If only the price of universality was available not only for the budgets of megacities.
And then in our town so far only this "know-how" has been established:

Fuh ... and I, after reading the title, at first thought that this is a type of "laser fence" for cows - it will burn pedestrians when they try to pass a red light.
