Azerbaijani MiG-29 fell into the Caspian Sea
The press service of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan reported on an emergency incident that occurred during a night training flight of the country's Air Force MiG-29.
As indicated in the message, the fighter disappeared from the radar screens at about 22.00 local time (21.00 Moscow time). Presumably, the plane crashed and crashed into the Caspian Sea.
Nothing is known about the fate of the pilot; the armed forces of Azerbaijan are conducting a search and rescue operation in the area of the likely fall of the aircraft.
On behalf of the Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, a special commission was created, which began to investigate the causes and circumstances of the emergency.
The danger that accompanies the training flights of military aircraft is due to the highest requirements for pilots. Pilots constantly develop piloting skills in the most difficult conditions, which periodically ends with the crash of aircraft and the death of the crew.
In this regard, Azerbaijan is no exception. It is enough to recall that in January 2019, two Su-34 fighter bomber collided in the sky over the waters of the Sea of Japan during a training flight.
Also in June, in the sky above Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, two German Air Force fighters Eurofighter collided.
