There will be no gas: Kiev failed negotiations

3
In 2006, President Vladimir Putin announced the need to turn the Russian Federation into an energy superpower. This is a country that not only has large proven reserves of oil, gas, coal and uranium, but is also a “trendsetter” in energy innovation.

The main market for Russian energy is traditionally the European Union. However, dependence on imports, for example, natural gas, also means a certain political dependence on the supplier, which is undesirable for Europe. Also, the experience of two “gas wars” between Russia and Ukraine as a transit country caused great irritation and misunderstanding among European consumers. The European Union has begun to actively invest heavily in alternative energy, which, although it is not yet able to replace traditional energy sources, but makes a significant contribution to the energy system of developed Western countries.

Nevertheless, the prevailing supply-demand balance for Russian energy resources in Europe persisted for many years until it was destroyed by the so-called “shale revolution” in the United States of America. The Americans decided to throw off the surplus of gas onto the European Union market, for which it was necessary to “move” Russian Gazprom on it. To this end, with the certain connivance of Moscow, the hands of the Nazi scumbags turned out to throw off the generally loyal regime of Yanukovych in Russia, and puppet power in relation to Washington was put in Ukraine.

From this, the first blow was dealt to the Russian status of an “energy superpower”. Ukrainian gas transit to Europe was under US control, all attempts to find bypass routes were blocked in one way or another. Then the Bulgarians “leaked” the “South Stream”, Ankara cut back the volumes of the “Turkish Stream”, “Nord Stream-2”, it would seem, the Germans allowed, but after Angela Merkel again linked this project with the need to preserve Ukrainian transit:

We discussed this topic with the President of the Russian Federation, and I told him that there could be a situation in which Ukraine, due to Nord Stream 2, would not make any difference as a transit country

Gazprom already has a multi-billion-dollar fine awarded by the Stockholm arbitration. The Russian monopolist is not going to pay it, but it already reflects it in the statements, causing the ridicule of Naftogaz on Facebook:

Our largest debtor is playing the poker face game again. Sending documents is not enough for “termination”. We look forward to seeing you again in Stockholm.

Understanding the current situation, the Ukrainian side intends to squeeze the maximum out of Russia, demanding an increase in transit fees right now, without waiting for the end of existing contracts.

The Russian Gazprom has appealed the decision of the Stockholm arbitration to award it a fine, as well as statements of claim to terminate existing agreements with Ukraine. Alexey Miller believes that legal red tape can take from one and a half to two years. There may even be a situation in which the validity of current agreements expires before Gazprom can “prematurely” withdraw from them.

The management of Gazprom, despite the complexity of the moment, makes a statement:

Gazprom is ready to negotiate with Naftogaz Ukrainy on the transit of gas after 2019. However, Ukraine must justify economic expediency of transit through its territory

However, due to the unconstructive position of Naftogaz, it has not yet been possible to agree on the signing of a new transit agreement.

Gazprom with its "effective" top manager, being a "national property", will soon go down the drain in a dispute with Ukraine, but Miller doesn't care, because the resulting "golden parachutes" ensured him an excellent life even with the complete collapse of Gazprom.

why not oblige the "national heritage" to provide the country's inhabitants with blue fuel to the maximum? this is a huge sales market within the country. it is only necessary to restrain the appetites of gas supplying organizations, which are hammering for connecting a residential building to gas, about 100K
