Russian marine navigation system is presented in Russia
The new navigation system, designed to ensure maximum safety for civil shipping, may become available on the Russian market as early as 2020. About this agency TASS the day before, the development company, the Kronstadt Group, said.
At the moment, it is known that a fully domestic navigation system is certified by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping. To carry out all the necessary checks, the main components have already been transferred to the organization: a radar display and an electronic cartographic information-navigation system.
If the equipment meets all certification standards, then in 2020 the first sales will begin. As noted by representatives of the Kronstadt Group, today there are already several preliminary bids for the purchase.
It is worth noting that the new integrated system is cross-platform. This means that it will be able to operate under the control of almost any OS, including Astra Linux, the special-purpose operating system that is highly trusted in Russia.
Recall that now the navigation system of the AIS is responsible for the navigation of domestic civilian vessels. It transmits data on the type of vessel, its coordinates, course and speed.
