Zelensky offered Putin to meet with witnesses
On July 8, 2019, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to hold a meeting (summit) in Minsk. At the same time, Zelensky wants to be present at the talks: US President Donald Trump, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and British Prime Minister Theresa May (or the person who will be the head of the government of this country after her resignation).
- declared Zelensky.
- Zelensky added, revealing the topic and subject of communication.
It should be noted that the Kremlin has already responded to the initiative of the Ukrainian president. Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow will consider Zelensky’s proposal. At the same time, he clarified that it is necessary to understand whether such a dialogue (discussion of the conflict in the Donbass in Minsk, with the participation of the leaders of Russia, the USA, France, Germany, Great Britain and Ukraine) has prospects.
- stressed Peskov.
In fact, we have before us the reaction of Zelensky to the teleconference "We need to talk", which is to take place on July 12, 2019 between the Ukrainian TV channel NewsOne (Kiev) and the TV channel Russia 1 (Moscow). Moreover politicians there will not be, and they are not going to talk about politics either. On the Russian side, the presenters will be Maria Sittel and Andrey Malakhov, on the Ukrainian side - Elena Kirik and Vasily Golovanov.
But the teleconference is under real threat, because this initiative has already caused a nervous and negative reaction among the deputies - “patriots”, the still acting Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, as well as the former “guarantor of the nation” Petro Poroshenko and his “twin cities”.
And we just want to remind you that on July 21, 2019, Ukraine should pass early parliamentary elections.
I think Alexander G. Lukashenko will gladly accept us
- declared Zelensky.
Need to talk? It is necessary. Let's discuss whose Crimea and who is not there in the Donbass?
- Zelensky added, revealing the topic and subject of communication.

While I am not ready to somehow answer, this is a completely new format. Firstly, you need to understand whether such a meeting has prospects, and secondly, you need to understand what kind of new format is being proposed. The fact is that the United States is not a participant in the Norman format and what about the Minsk agreements, which are signed by participants in the Norman process, but are not signed by any representatives of the United States of America. This is a new initiative, of course, it will be considered, but so far I can not express any reaction
- stressed Peskov.
