Russia switches to hypersound
Russia is testing a revolutionary detonation jet engine. This became known from the report of NPO Energomash. According to the information provided, the designers are currently testing the engine with a thrust of about two tons.

What is the new principle of jet engines?
Conventional liquid taxiway generates traction by burning fuel at constant pressure and a flame front. A column of flame escaping from the nozzle “pushes” the load in a given direction.
In DRD, everything is different. Instead of a constant flame front, a detonation wave forms in the combustion zone. Due to its supersonic speed, the combustion products do not have time to collapse and under tremendous pressure they detonate inside the wave itself. The frequency of such "pulsations" of waves reaches several thousand per second. At the same time, the thermodynamic efficiency of the engine increases significantly.
With the help of DDR, Russia will be able to build aircraft capable of moving at hypersonic speed.
