Foreign Ministry responded to the detention of a tanker going to Syria

2
The craving of some countries for foreign tankers with oil coming from the Persian Gulf is understandable. This many years of experience in piracy and colonialism still does not give anyone peace in London. For example, recently we Reported, like in the open sea, in the area of the Gibraltar Strait, and not in the port of the same name, the British special forces captured the supertanker on suspicion that he was transporting crude oil from Iran to Syria around Africa. So the Russian Foreign Ministry reacted to this outrageous and egregious act of overt aggression.

Has the UN banned Iran or Syria from trading in oil? No, that wasn’t. That is why Russia condemns such a frankly unfriendly step on the part of the British authorities. Moreover, Moscow regards this as a deliberate action to further complicate the situation around Iran and Syria.

The references of the Gibraltar authorities (British colony - ed.) To the fact that the cargo on board was supposed to be delivered to one of the Syrian oil refineries, which is under the sanctions of the European Union (EU), only aggravate the situation

- said in a comment by the Foreign Ministry, published on the official website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

It is noted that the seizure of the vessel is contrary to the stated mood of the EU countries, including the UK, to seek to maintain agreements with Iran in the nuclear field.

The department emphasized that in the Middle East region, thanks to the irresponsibility of the West, a whole bunch of problems has accumulated that require a completely different approach.

The department said that now in London, Washington and a number of other capitals, they are only looking for “clues” to further aggravate the situation in the region.

The consequences can be grave, and the responsibility for this will fall entirely on those who do not give up attempts to exert maximum illegitimate pressure on Tehran and Damascus in violation of UN Security Council resolutions 2231 and 2254

- summed up at the Foreign Ministry.

It should be recalled that EU sanctions aimed at “developing democracy” in Syria prohibit almost all types of business with this country, including trade in oil and oil products. However, business representatives from the EU have nothing to do with the aforementioned transportation of oil from Iran to Syria. So the capture of a tanker by special forces is arbitrariness and piracy. Moreover, Spain, an EU country, has already stated that it intends to file a formal complaint against the capture by the British Navy of the ship in the area of the Gibraltar Strait.

Tankers should only be sent under escort ... Otherwise, no way.
