The Anglo-Saxons decided to "pick up" Hong Kong from China

China, waging a trade war with the United States, received a sensitive blow. In his special administrative district of Hong Kong, right now there is a second attempt of the Maidan, which failed in 2014. Five years ago, these events were called the “Revolution of Umbrellas” and went in parallel with the coup in Kiev. Then Ukraine could not resist, but China was able to keep the situation in its hands. Will it work this time?

Hong Kong is one of the leading financial centers in the world. Initially, it was captured by Great Britain, but later on under an agreement of 1898 it was leased from China for 99 years. Naturally, after the expiration of London did not want to part with this prosperous city. However, Beijing insisted on its own and on July 1, 1997 gained sovereignty over its historical territory.

But sovereignty was not complete. By agreement with Great Britain, it is precisely British law that has been fixed in this special administrative district of China for the next 50 years. An interesting concept of two systems was formed within the framework of one state, which should operate until 2047. Hong Kong has received extremely broad autonomy and self-government, and all issues of defense and foreign policy manages the PRC.

It is worth noting that the British left without saying goodbye, since they were not going to leave completely. In their former colony, propaganda work began, where the local population, who had a very short historical memory, was told beautiful stories that the Hong Kongs are a completely different people than the “Chinese laponniki”, and that the Hong Kongs are brothers, if not blood, it’s already exactly in spirit to the British themselves, with whom they are more along the way than with the “commies” from the mainland.

The first attempt by the Anglo-Saxons to win back everything happened in 2014 against the backdrop of euphoria from the success of the Ukrainian Maidan. Hong Kong OniChildren protested 79 days. The events were called the “Revolution of Umbrellas” because they were used by activists of the local Maidan to protect police from aerosols instead of pots on their heads, which some Ukrainians were smart about.

The Chinese authorities had every opportunity to disperse the paid protests by the police and the PLA, but acted smarter and more subtle. They did not allow explicit provocateurs to the scene, checked things for items that could be used as weapons. Cellular has been disconnected. No one allowed to go handing out cookies. Therefore, the hungry Onigets were sadly sitting on the pavement in the rain without food and mobile Internet. As a result, Maidan resolved by itself.

This time the organizers prepared better. The reason for the protests was the intention of local authorities to introduce amendments to the laws of Hong Kong, giving the right to extradite criminals to China. A spokeswoman for the Lam County Administration confirmed the feasibility of this decision:

This is a very important piece of legislation that will help preserve justice and ensure that Hong Kong fulfills its international obligations with regard to cross-border and transnational crimes.

She said that this is an initiative of Hong Kong itself, not Beijing. But who cares when you just need a reason? China authorities supported its special administrative district. This added fuel to the fire. About a million people were taken to the streets. Maidan activists stormed the Legislative Assembly, attacking the police with bricks and metal sticks. More than a dozen law enforcement officers received acid burns, which they spilled on them.

It is noteworthy that the "performance" takes place under the cameras of foreign journalists, and the activists have British flags and old Hong Kong flags in their hands. The representative of London said that the UK will "closely monitor the development of the situation." Beijing irritably recommended the British not to get into their own business:

Recently, the British side has been interfering in the affairs of Hong Kong. We express extreme discontent and resolute protest in this regard.

Today, Hong Kong police will try to clear government buildings from Maidan activists. It is hoped that the snipers have not yet taken their places on the roofs.

On the other hand, Hong Kong itself is also not made with a finger.

China has long overtaken Russia in technology - this is a fact. What does this have to do with the article? Or, having overtaken Russia, China is still unable to catch up with Beloukriya in sour cream production technology? Did you mean this? You work out your complexes in your dear country, the "homeland" of potatoes and sour cream.
