Hail covered the Mexican city with a half meter of ice

A meter layer of hail is not a “horror story” or fiction, but a hard come true. Now the residents of the city of Guadalajara, which is in distant and warm Mexico, know this.





In this city, located in the western part of the country, not far from the Pacific coast, a hail suddenly passed. As a result, the city of Guadalajara was literally under the ice. In some places, the ice thickness was more than one and a half meters.

Almost all the motorways of the city were covered with ice, which led to a traffic stop. Many cars themselves are "icy". Unaccustomed to this weather phenomenon, the buildings of Guadalajara began to crumble.


According to representatives of city authorities, according to already available data, the disaster caused damage to 65 households. In addition, 30 cars were affected by ice and hail.

Now the Mexican authorities are trying to eliminate the consequences of the disaster. Rescue services can not cope, so they threw an army to help the population.


All available snowplows took to the streets of the city technique, which, for obvious reasons, the fleet of the city hall of Guadalajara does not abound. Nevertheless, it was possible to clear up to 70% of the city.

The director of the Department of Civil Defense and Fire Protection of the state of Jalisco Victor Hugo Roldan reports that so far he does not have data on the citizens who suffered as a result of the rampant.
