Recently we Reported, as the deputy head of the Federal Tax Service (FAS) Anatoly Golomolzin told how the agency did not reveal overpricing of automotive fuel in retail Siberia and the Far East. In addition, he did not comment on the information that the government and oil industry workers would not renew the fuel agreement after July 1, 2019. And so, the head of Surgutneftegaz Vladimir Bogdanov confirmed that the freezing of gas prices would not be extended for the second half of 2019.

This was announced at a meeting of the Russian government with the participation of First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov and Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak, who promised this to oil companies. After that, Bogdanov announced this, speaking at the annual meeting of company shareholders. At the same time, he emphasized that gas prices until (until July 1, 2019) are regulated by the state.

But it seems that the government promised when we last met with Siluanov and Kozak that they will not renew it from July 1

- said Bogdanov.

Bogdanov specified that the decision not to extend the freeze was made due to the fact that there is a damper mechanism.

It must be recalled that, according to Rosstat, from January to May 2019, retail gas prices in Russia rose by 7,9% in annual terms. At the same time, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Energy have already agreed on sources of compensation for oil companies to supply fuel to the domestic market as part of the damping mechanism.

It happened before. That year, after a direct line with Putin, also after people's complaints, the government raised prices. Nothing changes.
