The problem of import substitution: the launch of the Gonets-M satellites was postponed until the autumn
The launch of the three Gonets-M satellites from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome scheduled for the current month will not take place. This was reported by the agency the day before. RIA News with reference to sources in the rocket and space industry.
At the moment, it is known that the launch of the aforementioned communication satellites has been delayed until the fall of this year. The reason was the lack of control system equipment, which is produced in Ukraine.
However, despite the postponement of the launch of the “June” batch of vehicles to fall (during this time, the issue of import substitution should be resolved), the source noted that at the end of this year, 3 more satellites could be put into orbit. Then the group will be regularly replenished during 2020-2022.
The Gonets-D1M platform, which is based on the Gonets-M devices, is a development of Academician M. F. Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems JSC and is a personal satellite communication system for both fixed and mobile subscribers anywhere in the world. Today it has found wide application in the transport, oil and gas and other industries.
Recall that we previously reported on termination serial production of GLONASS-K satellites, which is also associated with the “problem” of using foreign components. However, domestic design bureaus are already working on creating a replacement for the latter, which in the future will eliminate the dependence of the system on foreign suppliers.
