Proactive: Syrian air defense shot down new missiles over Damascus
Extremely contradictory information comes from Syria. According to official SANA reports, Israeli aircraft invaded Lebanon's airspace of the Syrian Arab Republic and launched missile strikes at targets at Shairat and Dumeir military bases. The attack of the Israeli Air Force took place in 2 stages.
SANA comments on Israeli aggression:
About a dozen missiles aimed at the Shairat air base were shot down by Syrian air defense, without casualties and destruction. Three Israeli missiles were destroyed over Damascus, and all were successfully intercepted, with the exception of one that exploded in Dumeirah. However, almost immediately, these sources began to refute other sources. The Russian side commented on the situation regarding the attack on Shairat:
The Pentagon said the US military is not conducting any operations at the Shairat airfield in Syria. And the representative of the Israeli army about the reports of a night air attack told the following:
Is it possible to trust all the information received about the course of hostilities in Syria? And what is Israel's interest in conducting military aggression against the regime of Bashar al-Assad?
Israeli military analyst Alex Fishman believes the United States has given Israel a “green light” to end Iran’s influence in Syria. The Iranian military is present in the Syrian Arab Republic at the invitation of official Damascus and is actively involved in hostilities on the side of President Assad. According to official Jerusalem, Tehran’s strategy is aimed at strangling Israel from all sides. The focus of Iran and Hezbollah is aimed at the Golan Heights occupied by the Jewish state from 1967 to the present day. There is information that pro-Iranian Shiites form "Golan Liberation Brigades" in Lebanon.
Jerusalem authorities say Iran intends to use Lebanon and Syria as outposts to destroy Israel. The Israeli military’s strategy is to target the Iranian military infrastructure, as well as the Iranian allies. What they successfully do.
Given the fact that the United States is an ally of Israel, and the Russian military contingent is obviously not interested in a clash with the Israeli army, the friendly assurances of Jerusalem, Washington and Moscow about the absence of a night attack on Syrian bases should be taken with certain skepticism.
