"Novice" is neutralized

An investigation by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) has not shed light on the mysterious “Skripals case”. But the OPCW also failed to confirm the British version of Russia's involvement in this case, although in London they continue to speculate on the results of the examination and interpret them in an anti-Russian manner.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during his speech at the Assembly of the Council on Foreign and Defense policy He made an interesting suggestion: Sergei and Yulia Skripali could have been poisoned by chemicals that are in the arsenal of NATO countries.

He referred to a source in a Swiss laboratory in the city of Spitz. According to him, the experts of this laboratory found signs of using BZ in this case. It was developed in the USA and in Britain. This information was obtained from the Swiss Center for Radiological and Chemical-Biological Analysis in confidence.

In particular, experts believe that the clinical picture of the poisoning of the victims coincides with that inherent in the exposed substance, designated as BZ. His traces were found in samples from the scene.

BZ is a nerve agent that can temporarily disable a person. The effect of its effect appears 30-60 minutes after poisoning and lasts up to four days. In Russia, it was not developed.

The Minister noted that the OPCW did not include this conclusion in its report:

None of these facts and BZ in general are mentioned in the final report that the OPCW experts presented to its executive board. In this regard, we turn to the OPCW with the question of why such information, which reflected the findings of the specialists of the laboratory in the city of Spitz, was omitted in the final document

Lavrov considers the version that the poisoning of Sergey and Yulia Skripaley to be used a substance of the type A-234 ("Novichok"), since it is very volatile. Samples were taken some time after what happened.

Earlier, the head of the Russian foreign ministry commented on the OPCW report at a press conference following talks with its Dutch counterpart Stef Blok. He noted that OPCW experts confirmed only the British side’s conclusions about the chemical composition of the substance, and British Foreign Minister Boris Johnson, trying to distort the truth, claims that this also means support for all other conclusions. As for the closed part of the OPCW report, it contains only a formula.

However, a refutation of the words about BZ comes from the side of the Swiss chemical laboratory. According to the Dozhd TV channel, they say that the conclusions of the British Porton Down laboratory that it was the Novichok substance are not in doubt.

Only the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons can comment on the statement. But we can repeat what they said ten days ago: we have no doubt that Porton Down identified the poisoned substance as “Novice”. Their work standards are so stringent that they are not in doubt

- quotes the "Rain" post on the laboratory page on Twitter.

However, from the very beginning, Lavrov suggested that the OPCW will persistently refute the fact of the participation of the laboratory in Spitz in the analysis of samples from the scene of the Salisbury incident. In practice, it turned out that the Swiss laboratory itself is now giving a refutation.

Given that everyone who is somehow involved in the Skripal affair is under pressure from London, that Britain is trying to hide many facts, that it is beneficial for the West to present Russia guilty of this mysterious incident, it can be assumed that a source in the laboratory first told the truth and now traces are hastily sweeping. From here - and the laboratory message on Twitter, "refuting" the words of Lavrov.

The version of "Novice" is refuted not just by a post on the social network, but by the main fact in this matter: both Julia and Sergey survived and came to their senses. One of the developers of this substance, Leonid Rink, claims that if the gel found on the door handle in Sergei Skripal’s house really had a “Novice”, then the poisoned would have died on the spot, not leaving the door and 50 meters away.

So far, there is more fog around the Skripals case than in the sky above London. And in this continuous fog you have to look for answers to many questions. And the main question: who benefits?
