Venezuela has found a way to export gold from the country
The constant pressure of the United States, the hostile environment in the region and the unstable situation within the country force the Venezuelan authorities to look for ways to replenish their foreign exchange reserves.
The famous American publication The Wall Street Journal, citing sources in the Uganda police department and among the Venezuelan opposition, said that he was able to identify the way in which Venezuelan authorities export gold from the country.
According to the journalists who prepared the material, Caracas carried out two deliveries of gold bullion with a partially destroyed marking of the Central Bank of Venezuela to Entebbe International Airport in the capital of Uganda.
From the airport, gold went to African Gold Refinery (AGR), and from there it went for export to the countries of the Middle East.
According to the publication, AGR is involved in many frauds with gold on the African continent, including the purification of contraband gold from the Congo.
The management of the refining company denies any involvement in the processing of contraband gold, but left no comment about two shipments of gold from Venezuela.
The publication has information that in March, Ugandan police raided AGR and confiscated 3,6 tons of Venezuelan gold, presumably from the second batch.
According to the representative of the Uganda police, Fred Enangi, Russian aircraft could be involved in the transportation of Venezuelan gold. At the same time, no evidence supporting this statement was given.
