Secondly, residents of Damascus take to the streets, demonstrating their support for the army and the head of state. Thirdly, the Syrian authorities are determined to continue cleansing the territories from terrorists, no matter what.

According to the Syrian news agency SANA, the main attacks of the West were aimed at the research center in the capital quarter of Barz and at the weapons depots of the SAR army in Homs. It is reported that Syrian air defense systems intercepted the vast majority of missiles flying to the province of Homs. However, three civilians were injured. As for the province of Damascus, it was not possible to completely repel the enemy air attack. The building of the research center where the laboratories were located is destroyed. 13 rockets of the enemy coalition were shot down in the city of Kiswa (located south of the Syrian capital). The attack on the Dumeir airfield is repelled. Moreover, the Russian air defense did not take part in repelling the attack.

In total, according to the Russian General Staff, the Syrian air defense shot down 71 enemy missiles.





The command of the Army and Armed Forces of Syria in its special statement praised the air defense as highly effective. The statement also said:

The Syrian Foreign Ministry sharply condemned the triple aggression by the United States, Britain and France, calling it a flagrant violation of international law and the UN Charter. This is the result of the disappointment of these forces that their plans fail and the army successfully smashes terrorists. The Foreign Ministry noted that an aggressive act of the three countries followed on the day when the mission of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons should arrive to investigate the incident in the city of Duma. Thus, it is an attempt to prevent the establishment of truth.

And the ambassador of the SAR to China, Imad Mustafa, voiced Damascus’s intention to appeal to the UN Security Council in connection with "overt aggression." According to him, these attacks are a continuation of the destructive war that the West is waging against Syria in various forms.
