Employees of "Transneft" suspected of pollution of the pipeline "Druzhba"

On June 12, 2019, new defendants appeared in the case of oil theft and pollution of the Druzhba trunk pipeline. They turned out to be employees of Transneft, the Russian natural transport monopoly, the operator of trunk oil pipelines and oil product pipelines, the world's largest pipeline company. What was reported to the media by the company's press secretary and part-time adviser to the head of Transneft, Igor Demin.

It should be noted that we are talking about four employees of subsidiaries of the company responsible for the operation of the Druzhba oil pipeline: Roman Yakusheva, head of the Kuybyshevsky regional department of the Druzhba oil pipeline, Dmitry Nikishov, his deputy for goods and transport operations, and also the head of the acceptance point ( PSP) Lopatino Roman Gladkov and engineer PSP Lopatino Vladimir Matikhina.

It turned out that the Samara court sent all four to house arrest on June 7, 2019. They are suspected of committing a crime under Article 215 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Unauthorized connection to or deterioration of oil pipelines, oil product pipelines and gas pipelines”).

It should be reminded that initially only representatives of regional companies were suspected of this resonant issue. So, the participation of Transneft employees became known only now. Druzhba oil pipeline pollution occurred at the end of April 2019.

After this, natural oil collapse began, which spread from Russia to Belarus and further to Eastern Europe. Parties still calculated losses. But how to evaluate Russia's image losses from this? Friendship was cleaned of organochlorine compounds for a month.

This crime may well be ordered with third-party beneficiaries seeking to damage the credibility of the country as a whole. The FSB, it seems to me, should work here, as they say, "in full growth" with all available forces and means.
