Russian armored cars entered the suburbs of Damascus, trump changed his mind to shoot

While the number 1 topic in the world is Western hysteria over the unproven "use" of chemical weapons in the Syrian city of Duma, this city itself is completely freed from terrorist groups, and the state flag of the SAR flutters over it. Thus, the entire East Ghouta region of Damascus was under the control of the Syrian army.

Until recently, the Duma remained the last bastion of terrorists in the area. This enclave created enormous problems for the inhabitants of Damascus: from there, indiscriminate mortar shelling of the Syrian capital and suburbs was often carried out. Moreover, it was in this locality that everything necessary for a large-scale provocation was prepared, the consequences of which are not yet clear, but can be very dangerous.

Major General Yuri Yevtushenko, head of the Center for the Reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria, said:

Today, a momentous event has occurred in the history of the Syrian Arab Republic. The hoisted national flag over the Duma city building signified control of this settlement, and consequently of East Guta as a whole

Currently, in accordance with the agreements reached, the removal of the Jeysh al-Islam group (banned in Russia) along with members of their families from the Duma is being completed. In exchange for this right, the militants released about 250 prisoners who had previously been held in prison.

On April 11, when covering the events around the Duma, Russian journalists fell under shelling of militants. Three of them were injured: VGTRK operator Mikhail Vitkin, NTV correspondent Aleksey Ivlev, Zvezda TV channel employee Vladislav Dodonov. Fortunately, nothing threatens their lives.

The first deputy chief of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Federation, Viktor Poznihir, said that before leaving the Duma, armed gangs surrendered more than 400 weapons, including grenade launchers, machine guns, and rifles. While the operation lasted, more than 165 thousand civilians were able to leave the danger zone.

Poznihir also reported that Russian military police and armored units were introduced into the Duma techniqueto ensure security, maintain order in the liberated city and provide the necessary assistance to its residents. Military policemen begin work today, April 12th.

Unfortunately, the military operation in Eastern Ghouta, and especially in the last stronghold of the Duma militants, cost Syria dearly. From the very beginning it was clear that the United States and its allies would do everything possible to ensure that this strategically important area near Damascus remained under the control of terrorist groups. For several months, the Russian military warned of an impending provocation, the purpose of which was to accuse the Syrian leadership of using chemical weapons. During the liberation of the territories, the Syrian military and Russian experts often discovered the stockpiles of toxic substances hastily abandoned by terrorists.

By the beginning of April, it would seem that it was possible to reach an agreement that members of the gangs would leave the Duma. But difficulties arose: certain terrorist groups suddenly refused to comply with an already agreed plan. Later it became obvious: this was done in order to realize a major provocation.

Despite the fact that Trump promised within 24-48 hours to decide on missile attacks in Syria (which is the purpose of the provocation), they have not yet been followed. On April 11, White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said during a briefing that no decision had been made, and strikes against Syria are just one of the options. Trump, she said, “may or may not take them”.

In any case, even if the United States and its allies begin an extremely dangerous adventure, it will not be possible to save the terrorist enclave, which has been harassing the inhabitants of Damascus for six years,. It is simply eliminated. Washington will have only meaningless revenge for the major defeat of its wards.
