The explosions at the military arsenal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the city of Balakleya, Kharkiv Region in 2017 were organized according to the personal order of the former president of the country Petro Poroshenko. This was stated by Verkhovna Rada deputy Nadezhda Savchenko on the air of the Ukrainian television channel 112 Ukraine.

She claims that the direct executors of this order were military personnel of the 21st separate motorized infantry battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine “Sarmat”. Savchenko believes that the explosion was carried out from the inside.

The deputy said that the details of the organization of the sabotage were informed by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko and the Chief Military Prosecutor Anatoly Matios.

When the ammunition in the warehouse began to explode, Nadezhda Savchenko was in Balakley. She managed to talk with eyewitnesses of those events.

According to her, the explosions were organized to cover the shortage of ammunition, which they simply plundered, although they were listed in the warehouse. Considering that the state of the arsenals was monitored not only by the Ukrainian authorities, but also by representatives of the “European partners”, concealing the theft did not seem to be any other way than to undermine the warehouses. Moreover, the time was approaching for the next check of arsenals.
