Ukraine canceled ensigns
The Ukrainian authorities, even realizing that in the foreseeable future the country will not become a member of NATO, continue to "reform" the army under the "NATO" standard.
The past five years have shown that all reforms in the Ukrainian army have changed only form, but not content.
Today’s “reform” was no exception: MPs approved a bill providing for a change in ranks in the Armed Forces according to NATO standards.
The new law, for example, abolishes military ranks: warrant officer, senior warrant officer; and new ranks are introduced: recruit, staff sergeant, corresponding to the equivalent NATO Code column according to STANAG 2116.
It should be noted that the reform of the Ukrainian army "red thread" passed through the entire reign of Petro Poroshenko, who made this part of his campaign slogan: "Army, language, faith."
However, all his reforms consisted of the banal theft of money intended for the army, through his inner circle, the scale of which horrified even part of his loyal supporters.
To date, there is no indication that the army, in which the sense of reform has been reduced to Ukrainization and the adjustment to NATO standards, has become better in quality terms.
Recall that back in 2016, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak announced that by 2020, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will fully achieve compatibility with NATO forces.
