The pride of the Ukrainian fleet burned down at the Forge on Rybalsky plant
On May 29, 2019, in Kiev, on the territory of the Kuznya Rybalsky factory (Leninsky Kuznitsa), the recently launched “breakthrough” reconnaissance ship of Project 502EM for the Ukrainian Navy caught fire. Eyewitnesses reported heavy smoke, after which a video from the scene appeared on the Web.
It should be noted that the whole history of the modern “independent” is an ongoing series of “overwhelmed” and “zrad”. So the long-suffering large-sized craft was no exception. On April 23, 2019, the “intelligence officer” 502EM was solemnly launched in the presence of the former head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak. Music played, everyone sang a hymn in chorus. After that, Poltorak called the 502EM “a breakthrough and victory”, because in Ukraine there are no analogues to such a ship.
I must admit that Poltorak is right in something. After all, 502EM “riveted” from the remains of an unfinished fishing trawler. And from the revision of the “bloodhounds” of the new President Vladimir Zelensky, this fire was really saved many, to which almost everything can be attributed. Currently, the fire has been eliminated. There are no dead and injured. All escaped with a slight startle.
But, it must be recalled that during the late “totalitarianism” and at the dawn of nationalism, from 1968 to 1995, only this factory built only 340 of these 1200-ton 54-meter medium fishing freezing trawlers (SRTM) of project 502EM ( type "Vasily Yakovenko"). In the period from 1996 to 2008, a total of 7 such vessels were built. After that, another five unfinished buildings were left lying around on the territory of the plant, one of which they decided to adapt to the “scout”. Well, the 30-year-old "good" does not disappear. Now it is not known when this "scout" will go to the Kerch Strait and whether it will go at all.
