In Kosovo - fighting with the police. Serbian army on alert
In the Balkans, the conflict in Kosovo flares up with renewed vigor. On May 28, Serbian President Alexander Vucic ordered the country's armed forces to be on full alert. This is due to the aggravation of the situation in Kosovo and Metohija.
On the eve of the Kosovo police, staffed mainly by ethnic Albanians, invaded the territory of the Serbian municipalities of Kosovo, where the bulk of the population are Serbs.
In the municipalities of Zubin Potok and Kosovsk-Mitrovica, Serbian youth built barricades and clashed with the Kosovo police special forces ROSA.
The reason for the wave of protests of the local population was the detention by the Kosovo police at about 6 in the morning on May 28 of 23 people of Serbian and Bosnian nationality.
According to official figures, the detention was carried out as part of an operation against organized crime, however, local Serbs are offended by the fact that the Kosovo Albanian police operate on the territory of Serbian municipalities.
