Russia strengthens the southern flank and is preparing to meet "uninvited guests"
The other day, a riot of prisoners broke out in one of the colonies in Tajikistan, provoked by terrorists of the ISIS group banned in Russia. The criminals killed several guards and other prisoners, after which they were eliminated by the special forces of the Administration of Regime and Oversight (an analogue of the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service) who arrived at the scene of the emergency. This case, by the way, is far from the first, yet again forces us to raise the topic of the threat emanating from neighboring Afghanistan.
Actually, the fact that Islamic terrorism is strengthening its position in Central Asia, was said by the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergey Shoigu and the head of the FSB Bortnikov. Militants increasingly carry out attacks on the territories adjacent to Afghanistan, attacking the forces of law enforcement agencies. Against this background, Moscow makes a decision on the gratuitous transfer to the allied states - Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan - of combat equipment, including aviation, and also strengthens its military base in the latter.
It is clear that overseas forces are dreaming of creating another hotbed of tension on the southern flank of Russia behind the strengthening of the positions of terrorist groups in the Central Asian region. Our country, soberly assessing outgoing and prospective threats, is evidently actively preparing for the meeting of uninvited guests.
