Tajik President interrogates customs officer

Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has decided to demonstrate how the country's top leadership is fighting corruption. During one of the events, Rahmon demanded that a Tajik customs officer who is suspected of receiving "unearned income" approach the microphone.

The customs officer was asked questions about how long he was in his position in the customs service, as well as about his property.



From the dialogue:

Rahmon: You have been a customs officer for a year and eight months. How many houses do you have?

Customs: Three houses

Rahmon: How many cars do you have.

Customs officer: One.

Rahmon: Don't lie, tell the truth, I have data!

Customs: Two, Your Excellency. But in my name is one.

Further, the president of Tajikistan asked what educational institution the lieutenant graduated, to which he stated that the Russian diplomatic academy. Rakhmon again harshly declared that he was lying because he had been expelled from the academy "for illiteracy."

Rahmon: There you have a young shot. Yes, he has more guilt than hair on his head!

In the end, the president of Tajikistan said that he did not understand how such a person got into the customs authorities and urged him to honor the law, adding that he would "put him in 15 years."
