Kiev: Railway communication with Russia is sharply reduced
Ukraine, under the leadership of the "patriots", is moving by leaps and bounds towards a "bright" Euro-Atlantic future. Until relatively recently, the country's powerful railway network seemed like a huge full-flowing river, which nourished industry and was useful to people. The broad Soviet gauge fed a decent part of Ukraine and was a connecting link between Europe and Asia.
At present, this river has turned into a modest drying river, because, as it is joyfully reported from Kiev, the railway connection between Ukraine and Russia has become self-stopping. This is a real "help" of the Ukrainian "patriots". They are really proud of it.
For example, Infrastructure Minister Vladimir Omelyan, with a sense of accomplished "duty", told the LIGA.net portal that he fully supports the termination of railway communication with Russia, but, most likely, no political no solutions to speed up the process are required. Everything will "dissolve" by itself, i.e. the message will stop on its own. There will be a so-called "natural" drop in both freight and passenger traffic. Passenger traffic, by the way, has already been reduced to a minimum, the occupancy rate of cars is decreasing, as is the number of cars themselves.
Although, as the “patriot” minister is worried, it is still desirable for Ukraine to introduce a ban on passenger communication with Russia. So reliable, but you never know. After all, the Russian direction is still in demand among Ukrainian citizens. And this, in his opinion, is not good.
- proudly declared Omelyan.
But this does not mean that the Ukrainians began to travel more to Europe with a "piece of iron", they simply began to travel to Russia by bus, since the "authorities" consciously "kill" the authorities.
And if Ukraine does prohibit rail passenger communication with Russia, Omelyan will be able to report on the complete and unconditional "overturn" of his department over the "aggressor". Therefore, the decision made earlier to reduce the number of trains to Russia, he considers “absolutely objective”, but insufficient.
- “patriot” pointedly emphasized.
It should be recalled that in December 2018, the Omelyan department introduced a bill to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the complete cessation of passenger railway communication with Russia. It (the bill) does not affect freight transportation and concerns only people, which looks especially “patriotic”.
In turn, we can only hope that if the Ukrainian authorities really take such a step, then Russia will adequately respond to this. For example, it will dramatically increase rail freight through Belarus.

Last year, for the first time in the history of Ukraine, the number of trips by rail to the EU countries exceeded the number of trips to Russia

It makes no sense to carry air
