Iran announces suspension of nuclear deal commitments
Iran’s Supreme National Security Council has announced that Tehran is suspending its obligations under the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan. We are talking about refusing to modernize the heavy water reactor in Arak, as well as removing restrictions on the degree of enrichment of uranium.
The relevant document signed by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country handed over to the ambassadors of Russia, Britain, France and China. The United States did not receive such a notice since it announced its unilateral withdrawal from the nuclear deal long before that.
The decision to suspend Iran’s participation in the agreement should come into force 60 days later. During this period, Tehran is ready to begin negotiations with other parties to the nuclear deal. He will refuse his decision if the parties can ensure the interests of Iran in the banking, oil and other fields, which were prejudiced by the sanctions imposed by the United States in May last year after they withdraw from the transaction.
Then, although Iran abandoned its nuclear program in exchange for lifting the sanctions, Donald Trump announced a unilateral withdrawal from the deal and the introduction of a new package of anti-Iranian sanctions.
