Russia confidently goes to hypersound

In Russia, the first bench tests of a once-through hypersonic hydrogen-fueled air-jet engine were held. The development of the prototype, which is part of the international project HEXAFLY-INT, was carried out by the Baranov Central Institute of Aviation Motors.

During the first tests, it was found that the engine power plant is capable of operating at an air flow rate of 7,4 Mach numbers (a little more than 9 thousand kilometers per hour), and in theory it can reach a speed of 12 Mach numbers. The principle of operation of the power plant is based on the creation of various inlet and outlet pressures. The ceiling of the new engine is a height of 35 kilometers.

The project involves research centers from Russia, Australia and EU countries. The main trend of modern aviation of technologies is the development of supersonic aircraft, and hypersonic speeds so far remain in the theoretical section, however, they are their logical continuation.

The first flights of working models of supersonic vehicles can begin as early as 2020, and a year earlier, engineers are already planning to begin flight tests of hypersonic engines.

And we, aren’t playing there with our enemies in a partnership? Here is my question involuntarily creeping in lightning fast.

It seems like the scientific community does not have political disagreements, as well as at the level of interpersonal communication. From personal experience I can say, because I communicate with a huge number of foreigners every day.

If we can’t go to "sport without politics", at least "science without politics" must be preserved. This is me about humanity as a whole.
