The profession of a miner is rightfully recognized as one of the most dangerous professions in the world.

An explosion occurred in the Lutuginsky district of the Luhansk region on a coal mini-mine owned by Skidkarbon. The fate of the fifteen miners remains unknown at the moment.

This became known from the head of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Lugansk People’s Republic Gennady Katsavalov. According to him, it became known about the confirmed death of two miners.

The leadership of the republic, headed by Leonid Pasechnik, is located on the site of the tragedy. Assistance to the Lugansk Ministry of Emergency Situations is provided by their colleagues and the rescue team from Russia.

The mine, where the accident occurred, was launched in 2018 after four years of inactivity and produces coal for the needs of the largest local enterprise - Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant.

In total, about 170 miners work at the mine. The last major accident at the mine occurred during Soviet times, when 21 people died.

Such incidents are an integral part of the miners' work in the region.

So, last summer, as a result of a thunderstorm, the mine was de-energized in the village of Toshkovka, Lugansk Region, which is controlled by Ukraine.

Due to the lack of electricity, about a hundred miners were forced to wait for underground electricity resumption.
