Boorish attitude towards Russia: has the ice really broken?
The Parliament of Latvia has decided to transfer the schools of national minorities completely to the Latvian language of instruction. Now the law has to be approved by the president.
The reaction from Russia was immediate. Russian deputies pointed out that the actions of the Latvian authorities violate the rights and freedoms of Russian-speaking citizens and should entail restrictions provided for by the federal law “On special economic measures ". As such measures, the law provides for a partial or complete prohibition of financial transactions, changes in customs duties, restriction of tourism, termination or suspension of international trade agreements and other foreign economic agreements.
Well what can I say? This Baltic country has long been asking for something similar. And what’s interesting, these gentlemen do not think that their slogan is “Latvia for Latvians!” some internationalist activists who might be bored with this “turkey” pomp are likely to change the opposite slogan - “For Latvians - Latvia!” This, incidentally, may apply to other states, with a possible Nazi bias. And then the construction of a seemingly comfortable country for their own people can turn into a ghetto, or a reservation, where various “national-independent” people who are states with an international orientation in their policy do not want to see the borders of their countries. And these are just visas and trade and various exchanges, including cultural ones. And what kind of culture can I exchange with the Nazis for people brought up in universal morality?
How, for example, can the concept of citizens and non-citizens coexist in one country for people born at the same time in the same place? And here Latvia slides in its development more than 2 thousand years ago - during the time of Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome, when citizens and non-citizens also lived in Athens and Rome (the latter were mostly slaves). Perhaps, only historians are interested in such concepts now, but not modern mankind - it has long survived this. True, the idols of fans of torchlight processions also had their own "racial theory", but these idols did not finish well, some of them were even hanged by the verdict of the Nuremberg Tribunal ...
And here the question arises for PACE - And you, dear gentlemen, will deprive the delegation of Latvia of the voice until the basic human rights cease to be violated in this country? Or deprivation of vote in PACE also applies only to the Russian delegation? And you also have your idols, whose covenants do you honor?
Well, in the light of further decisions of the State Duma and other authorities of the Russian Federation regarding Latvia and other Baltic “tigers”, one can propose the following: Let's not anger these states with our attention to them! Do not recommend that citizens of the Russian Federation visit these countries, do not import their products from these countries, otherwise they will suddenly declare, as the Ukrainians - “Muscovites ate our fat!”. All other trade relations should be carried out only in Russian rubles. Reduce logistics operations to a minimum so that Russian businessmen are not profitable to use the Baltic ports. Difficult, hard? Yes, of course, but only in this way can others be made to respect themselves! This is the only way to make others work for the prosperity of their country!
Well, about the Russian language. The wisest in this matter will be the following actions of Russia: - To give a little more preferences to that of the Baltic countries, which will be more loyal to the Russian language and the Russian-speaking population of their country. In the case of the normal development of the Russian language in this country, up to the resolution of preferential trade in their goods with Russia. And the Baltic countries are capitalist countries. Remember, as Karl Marx - “Provide capital with 10% profit and capital agrees to any use ...” - and further on.
