Zelensky spoke out against the language law adopted by the Rada

The Law "On ensuring the functioning of the Ukrainian language as the state language" adopted by the Rada on April 25 was adopted in a hurry, without preliminary wide public discussion, becoming a "hostage" political rhetoric. " Such a statement was made by Vladimir Zelensky on his Facebook page.





He considers the law unsuccessful, because it was adopted in the conditions of the election race. Two thousand amendments already speak of its imperfection and lack of consensus in the Rada regarding language strategy.

Having established himself as president, Zelensky will carefully study him for compliance with the Constitution of Ukraine. According to the winner of the presidential race, only the Ukrainian language can be the state language of the country. But to make it so with the help of prohibitions and punishments is meaningless. Zelensky believes that only the policy of encouragement and stimulation can help popularize the Ukrainian language.

Commenting on Zelensky’s statement, the head of the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry recalled the meaning of the word “incentive”.
