Russian "Drill" has already hit London

After the resonant case of the Skripals in English politicians and the media has already managed to pretty much scare the public with Novichok poison and even buckwheat (in which, according to one version, this chemical weapon was located). In conditions when relations between London and Moscow are already tense, the press is looking for more and more horror stories. The British newspaper Daily Express has published material on one of the new developments in Russia - the Drill air bomb, which the fifth-generation Su-57 fighter can carry.

The publication believes that this is “another signal of aggression from the Kremlin,” along with cyber attacks against the United States and the Syrian war. Moreover, according to the newspaper, this Russian novelty brings the beginning of the Third World War closer.

Daily Express cites the words of employees of the Tekhmash concern (the company that is the developer of this ammunition) that the Drill can hit targets that are 30 kilometers away without invading the airspace of the enemy country. One such bomb is enough to defuse a tank column or rocket battery. Radars are not yet able to recognize such shells.

But the most absurd thing is that the publication connects the presentation of such weapons with the case of the poisoning of Sergei Skripal and his daughter Julia (that’s really an “information bomb”!) And building up Russia's military potential is with the expulsion of British diplomats (which was carried out in response to similar share in London).

The truth is that this development was first introduced by Techmash back in 2015 at the MAKS aerospace show. That is, they talked about “Drills” very long before the story with the Skripals. That’s the whole “sensation”.

Ammunition tests began in 2016. And in early January 2018 (also before the scandalous incident in Salisbury, which, I recall, happened on March 4), the general director of Techmash Vladimir Lepin said that the Drill could go into service this year. The tests, he said, are being carried out jointly with the military. The customer of this product is the Ministry of Defense.

Russian users of social networks managed to ridicule this horror story of a British newspaper. Among the jokes on this topic, there is one such:

She ["Drill"] buckwheat sprinkles all of London

Well, in the conditions when one ridiculous accusation is brought against Russia after another, the citizens of our country can only respond with humor. As for the brand new powerful aerial bomb - with such "partners" it will not hurt to introduce it. So, just in case. Suddenly, someone else in London “will take pleasure in Russian buckwheat” and again Moscow will be declared guilty.
