It seems that flexible displays in the near future will cease to be the prerogative of smartphones and televisions. Technology finds applications in the most unexpected products. So, on the eve it became known that the Japanese giant Sony filed a patent at WIPO for the development of bags and backpacks with a “wired” flexible screen. Despite the fact that the document was registered in 2017, it became known about it only now.

Some details of the application are disclosed by the network resource LetsGoDigital. According to published information, Sony accessories will use displays made using electronic paper technology. As conceived by the developer, such a screen will provide not only high readability, but also minimal power consumption.

A special switch will be responsible for the demonstration of certain images. Also, an unusual bag will be equipped with a controller and a battery. And also, Sony wants to “teach” their new product to automatically change the picture, responding to human behavior and environmental conditions. For this, backpacks are equipped with a temperature sensor and an accelerometer.

What additional functions, in addition to the slide show, will have an innovation from Japanese developers is not yet known. However, the date of the appearance of the product in the public domain is currently not reported.
