Sometimes during fire fighting people do not have the opportunity to take a direct part even in the presence of protective clothing. In such cases, a robotic comes to the rescue technique. So, to combat fire in the world famous French cathedral Notre Dame, the Colossus robot developed by Sharks Robotics was used.

Recall that the fire in Notre Dame Cathedral occurred on April 15 this year. Due to the extremely high temperature inside the building, firefighters could not participate in the localization of the fire. This is where the Little Colossus came in handy.

The robot with the "formidable" name is remotely controlled by a specially trained operator. "Mechanical firefighter" is absolutely resistant not only to fire, but also to radiation. Colossus is equipped with a fire hose and other specialized equipment needed to fight the flame. In addition, if necessary, the device is able to deal with the transportation of victims.

The maximum speed with which the Colossus can move is 10 km / h. The robot can carry a load of up to one ton and function up to 10 hours without having to return to the base.
