President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin approved the start of the development of a high-speed railway project. HSR should connect Moscow and St. Petersburg.

The president’s decision was announced by his press secretary Dmitry Peskov. According to Peskov, the interim governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov and Russian Railways OJSC initiated the construction of a high-speed highway.

If the high-speed rail linking Moscow with the "northern capital" is indeed built, its launch will be a real revolution in transport links between the two largest cities in Russia. It will be possible to get from Moscow to St. Petersburg in two hours.

Thanks to the shortest time on the road, people will begin to travel along the HSR much more often, its passenger flow will amount to 33 million people, which is three times higher than current figures. Naturally, new jobs will appear, and various business projects will be launched, which will become easier to work because of the efficient communication between Moscow and St. Petersburg.

In addition to the Moscow-St. Petersburg high-speed railway, the country is increasingly discussing the possibility of building a similar highway from Moscow to Kazan. But the Kremlin has not yet received consent for this project. Not all at once. Yes, and the chores of building high-speed highways are costly.
