In Russia, cash from a VISA card can be withdrawn at the cash desk of a store

Russia is the key market in the European region for the Visa international payment system.

This is precisely the reason for the fact that in Russia, along with the United States and Great Britain, the most advanced settlement options provided by this settlement system are run in.

So, on the territory of the Istra district of the Moscow region, the Visa system launched a pilot project providing for the possibility of withdrawing cash at store cash desks. This was reported by the company press release.

For the operation, it is enough to make a purchase and make a calculation using a Visa card or smartphone, confirming it with a fingerprint or PIN-code.

The new service is being tested in partnership with the Russian Parmesan cheese factory and Russian Agricultural Bank. After this service passes a certain “run-in” in a small territory, it is planned to launch it throughout the country and connect to it other banks that are issuing cards of the Visa payment system.

The Visa representative in Russia notes that the experience of other countries where this service has already become standard (USA, UK, Poland, Slovakia and Poland) shows that the introduction of the new service will increase the confidence of Russians in non-cash payment methods.

Recall that according to the requirement of Visa, from April 13, 2019, Russian banks should switch to the issue of plastic cards, which can be used to pay non-contact, about which we wrote earlier.
