In the global smartphone market there are rapid, but quite expected changes. It became known that the Chinese Huawei and Honor were able to push the famous American company Apple by the number of smartphones sold on the Russian market.





Since the iPhone X, whose price starts at $ 1000, has not caused much demand among consumers not only in Russia, but also in Japan, Western Europe and even the United States itself, Apple has begun to reduce production. This is due to several main reasons. Firstly, the smartphone market in the USA and China turned out to be oversaturated, which led in the past 2017 to a decrease in sales volumes - for the first time in the history of the market. In 2017, 1,46 billion smartphones were sold in the world, which is 0,5% less than in 2016.

Secondly, interest in Apple products weakened because Chinese companies, the main competitors, offer machinery almost the same class, only for much less money. This has already been understood by consumers who are trying to save money and buy or order Chinese devices. By the way, the competition between the US and China in the smartphone market, as well as other telecommunication equipment in general, is one of the main reasons for the discontent of the American leadership with the Chinese presence in the national and foreign markets.

In 2017, two of Apple’s latest models appeared on the markets at once - the iPhone 8 and iPhone X. The latter was called the flagship of the market - not only because of the price, but also because of the features, but contrary to all expectations, it did not cause a stir at the mass consumer. Having already understood the market trends, consumers realized that the declared price (and this is more than $ 1000, as we noted above) does not correspond to the real functionality of the device. Moreover, neither the functionality of the iPhone, nor its design and specifications practically do not change. According to experts, Apple products have already lost the importance that they had a few years ago.

Therefore, Apple has already reduced the launch of the iPhone X, scheduled for the first quarter of 2018, from 40 million to 20 million units. It turns out that the plans of the company, which hoped to transfer users of outdated models to the new iPhone X, failed miserably. Consumers either left their old iPhones for themselves, or purchased cheaper Chinese smartphones.

It is noteworthy that the iPhone retain its popularity precisely in developing countries, where the possession of such a device is a certain sign of social prestige. In Europe and the United States themselves, the share of Android is increasing. Apple failed to conquer the huge, very promising Chinese market. Here, the company's products are only in fifth place, skipping ahead of Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo. Obviously, in the future this situation will not only continue, but will worsen. It is unlikely that Apple will be able to win back - the revolution made by the company has become history, and other trends await the world ahead.
