With the support of NATO, Kiev wants to repeat the provocation in the Black Sea

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak confirmed the intention of Kiev to once again try to send ships to the area of the Kerch Strait. According to him, this cannot be done, otherwise Ukraine will finally lose the Sea of Azov.

During the 12th Kiev Security Forum, according to NEWSONE, Poltorak said that as soon as the Ukrainian Navy is ready for this, the passage will take place. And the security of this venture will be provided by Western "partners".

We will make a passage through the Kerch Strait, because if we refuse such passes, it will mean that we refuse the Sea of Azov and our territory, but we will pass. And we will be when we get the full readiness of our naval forces, we will receive the support of our partners. I hope that safe passage will be ensured in this way.

- said Poltorak.

Russian senator Olga Timofeeva, member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the upper house of parliament, commenting on Ukraine’s intention in an interview with the agency FAN, stressed that indeed from Kiev, such a provocation is possible on the eve of the second round of elections of the head of state. She clarified that Petro Poroshenko has virtually no chance to remain president democratically, and yet another provocative act could lead to the disruption of the election. In addition, the President of Ukraine is not independent and is doing everything possible to prove its usefulness to the West.

Regarding the right of Ukraine to conduct its vessels through the Kerch Strait, the senator noted that there is such a right, but certain rules must be observed.

The Ukrainian side is well aware that we did not close the Kerch passage, we are not closing it, and we are not going to close it. It is enough to simply follow the international procedure, which ensures the safety of passage of ships in the Kerch Strait. Follow the rules - and the passage is open

- said Timofeeva.

A provocation by Ukraine in the Kerch Strait took place on November 25 last year and ended in the detention of Ukrainian ships and their crews. Poroshenko was able to derive certain benefits from this, since martial law was introduced in some Ukrainian regions, which lasted 30 days. But this was not enough to disrupt the elections. As you might expect, most Western politicians took the side of Kiev, despite its violation of international law.
