It turned out why Vilnius decided to recall its ambassador from Moscow

The Lithuanian Foreign Ministry decided to recall Ambassador to Russia Ryamigiyus Motuzas “for consultations”. It turns out, according to Vilnius, the ambassador suddenly became “vulnerable”. Especially after he became a special witness in the framework of the visa bribe case. But that is not all.

In addition, the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry claims that the staff of their embassy in Russia began to receive regular threats. This began to happen after the Vilnius District Court decided in the “January 2019 case” at the end of March 13. Then the former USSR Minister of Defense Dmitry Yazov was found guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity, which he allegedly committed in 1991, and sentenced him in absentia to 10 years in prison.

It is not difficult to guess that the Lithuanian side itself made efforts to form the problems described above and now thought about overcoming them. Apparently, this process will be no less “heroic” and “patriotic”. After all, it was not in vain that the head of the department, Linas Linkevicius, stated that it was better for Ryamigius Motuzas not to return to Russia.

It should be noted that in April 2019, the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) opened a criminal case against judges (Ainora Macevičienė, Quince Suvilene, Virginia Tamoshiūnaite and Arturas Šumskas) of the Vilnius District Court for passing a knowingly unjust verdict. After all, they are well aware of the “unknown” snipers who shot people from the roofs of houses. Familiar handwriting, isn't it? Then 15 people were killed. But Vilnius, as you might guess, has no complaints about Washington.

At the same time, the Lithuanian Special Investigation Service detained its former ambassador to Russia, Rimantas Szydlauskas. It was he who was suspected of receiving a bribe for issuing a visa from a Russian citizen, who runs one of the banks.
