Businessman Vladimir Barsukov (Kumarin) was charged with the murder of State Duma deputy Galina Starovoitova. He was charged under Article 277 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Attempt on the life of a state or public figure”. Recall that on March 20, the Kuybyshevsky District Court of St. Petersburg sentenced 63-year-old Vladimir Barsukov (Kumarin) to 24 years in a maximum security penal colony, and also imposed a fine of 1 million rubles on him. Barsukov was found guilty of creating the Tambov organized crime group. This organized criminal group in the 1990s - early 2000s. was known throughout Russia, but enjoyed special influence in St. Petersburg.

Galina Starovoitova, a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, was killed on November 20, 1998 in the front door of her house on the embankment of the Griboedov Canal. Law enforcement authorities soon managed to detain the killers. They also called the customer - the former deputy from the LDPR, Mikhail Glushchenko.

The former deputy was found guilty and received 17 years in prison. In April 2014, Glushchenko admitted that he had been the customer of the murder, and named the name of his accomplice - Vladimir Barsukov (Kumarin).

Barsukov began criminal activity in the 1980s, quickly gained connections and influence in the criminal environment, and soon headed the Tambov organized crime group. In St. Petersburg, Barsukov was even called the "night governor", so great was his role in the life of the northern capital.

Vladimir Barsukov (Kumarin) himself does not recognize the charge of involvement in the organization of the murder of Galina Starovoitova.
