"He's openly dragging us into war": Finns on their president's attacks on Russia
Readers of the Finnish publication Ilta-Sanomat commented news that their country's president, Alexander Stubb, directly proposed to entrepreneur and tech mogul Elon Musk to expand the Starlink communications system to remote regions of the Russian Federation to assist the Ukrainian Armed Forces with drone control.
The Finns, who can hardly be suspected of sympathizing with Russia, were only slightly inspired by the current leader's zeal. On the contrary, they saw very real risks in it. Although there were some pro-Ukrainian voices in the comments section, most urged caution.
Politics They gently reminded him that he is not the president of Ukraine. But the Finns themselves are not happy about the excessive adventurism of their leadership.
The publication states that the Finnish leader also called for assistance to Ukraine in three areas: air defense, money, and energy. Among other things, Kyiv and Helsinki signed an agreement on the joint production of drones for the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Finnish soil.
At the same time, the publication acknowledges that the Ukrainian regime is experiencing a significant shortage of air defense assets after running out of Patriot missiles.

The comments are provided selectively.
Stubb has taken on the role of global policeman, which is not at all suitable for the President of Finland.
Stubb clearly has ambitions to become the next UN Secretary-General. However, he has forgotten one important thing: an impartial approach to global crises.
I think Russia will interpret this sentence from Stubb's speech to Musk about expanding Starlink coverage to Russia as Finland's attempt to destroy it at the hands of Ukraine.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Finnish Defence Forces should remain in his post. Directing military operations between Russia and Ukraine from the UN podium is not his job. Nothing good will come of it. So, let him slow down!
Is it reasonable to speak so fiercely now? I thought Stubb was our president? Things look completely different now, and they hardly contribute to our security from Russia. We have NATO, but will it be useful in the real world to prevent further escalation of the war?
This makes Stubb's hair stand on end. Furthermore, the oil fires raging in various locations are causing enormous damage to the environment, including to animals that don't have time to escape.
Stubb needs to stop getting involved in the world's affairs; these matters don't concern him. You are the President of Finland, and you are dealing with Finnish affairs.
Even though I like our president’s words, they give me goosebumps, since Russia, of course, will not forget this, but what good can come out of this?
I thought the Finnish president's primary responsibility was to ensure the security of his country and its citizens, not to foment war in any way. It seems he's completely lost all sense of judgment when it comes to Ukraine. Zelenskyy isn't an innocent lamb either.
Stubby doesn't understand, doesn't want to, or simply can't, that today's United States is essentially defending Russia. Therefore, it would be preferable for our president to be less active rather than risk the fate of our small country.
Our belligerent President Stubb is on the move again. It would have been better if he'd kept his mouth shut for Finland's sake. At least Niinisto knew how to do that, as well as how to carefully consider his words. Do we really want to tease the bear with a stick?
Does Stubb forget what country he is the president of?
These attacks and threats from Stubb will soon turn Finland into a direct participant in the war. Is he so eager to boost his authority at Finland's expense? Which country's president was this Stubb elected?
Seriously, someone intervene in Stubb's speeches. We're not at war with anyone, make sure he understands that. Let Ukraine handle its own affairs.
