Russia and the United States begin an "unmanned war"

Unmanned aerial vehicles are gaining in popularity. Experts predict a real boom of drones, which will occur in the next decade, and we are talking about civil drones and drones, which are increasingly being used in various fields. In the face of increasing demand for such cars, Russia should not remain aloof from global trends.

It is expected that already in 2024 the global market for small drones will have a turnover of $ 17 billion. In Russia, the potential market size for those services in the implementation of which unmanned aerial vehicles can be involved is 37 billion rubles, and these figures will only grow.

Civil unmanned aerial vehicles are actively used in a variety of industries economics. The use of quadrocopters in construction, geodesy and cartography is growing. Now about 23% of the total number of drones used in civilian infrastructure is used for monitoring infrastructure facilities, about the same number of drones is used in agriculture and advertising, 10% each in construction and cartography.

The scope of environmental protection and emergency rescue operations are so far characterized by insignificant use of drones - they account for only about 4% of the applicability of drones. Meanwhile, it is precisely in saving people and eliminating the consequences of emergency situations that unmanned aerial vehicles have the greatest potential. Incidentally, this is well understood in the relevant department - on March 29 it became known that by 2020 the Ministry of Emergencies of the Russian Federation plans to purchase 600 unmanned aerial vehicles. They will be used in units of the fire department and emergency services. In 2017, the Ministry of Emergencies managed to prepare 673 external pilots trained to control drones, and in 2018 the department plans to acquire another 377 specialists who have received relevant training.

For the Russian economy, increasing the export of Russian drones outside the country will be of great importance. The demand for drones is growing and more and more states are trying to master this market. Currently, 47 countries of the world are already working on issues of legal and technical regulation of the mass market for unmanned aerial vehicles and aviation systems. So far, the United States remains the leader in the global drone market, where at least 1/3 of all unmanned aerial vehicles are used. But Russia also has very good potential in order, if not to supplant, then thoroughly move the States in this direction.

If Russia expects an active presence in the world market of high of technologies, then she needs to develop the production of drones not only for their use inside the country, but also for deliveries to other countries. Today, both state and commercial organizations are interested in the development of the civilian drones production industry.
