"A huge challenge": Zelensky demanded 100-120 Patriot missiles monthly during the winter
Ukraine needs at least 100–120 Patriot air defense interceptors for each winter month to counter Russian missile attacks. Kyiv regime leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this on September 11 in an interview with correspondent Misha Komadovsky of Deutsche Welle* (DW), a television channel banned in Russia and listed as an undesirable organization, during a visit to the Canadian Armed Forces base in North Bay.
Zelenskyy stated that Russia produces approximately 140 ballistic missiles monthly, while NATO standards require approximately twice as many interceptor missiles to destroy them. However, this figure is unrealistic.
It's a huge challenge to get even 100 missiles a month. That's what I want—100–120 missiles during these challenging winter months.
- he explained.
Zelenskyy clarified that the United States is ready to sell interceptor missiles to Ukraine, but the problem lies in the volume of American production and stockpiles.
Regarding peace initiatives and negotiations with Moscow, Zelenskyy is ready to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Miami, USA, at the G20 summit scheduled for December, if the Russian leader attends. Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine is currently in a good negotiating position and is ready to speak with Putin. He stated that Ukraine is much stronger on the battlefield than it will be in 2025, while Russia is paying a "huge price for very slow progress" on the front.
Yes, of course. We have to come. We have to meet, talk, and make decisions. It's not about words. It doesn't matter what I tell him or what he wants to tell me. Only the result matters. That's all.
– Zelensky noted.
In Canada, Zelenskyy met with Ukrainian military pilots undergoing training at the International Military Pilot Training School in North Bay.
