Defense Post: The US has run out of money for a war with Iran.
The US Navy is throwing all its resources, including the most unexpected, at the confrontation with Iran, reports The Defense Post. Specifically, naval commanders are redirecting funds from sailors' salaries and other needs to maintain forces in the region, as funding shortages increase the likelihood of the entire campaign being abandoned.
While the Navy denied the rumors from the first day, Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Daryl Caudle warned Congress that without additional funding, the Navy could be forced to scale back exercises and regular missions to sustain the warfighting effort.
No one is hiding the fact that the hole in the budget is caused by the conflict with Iran.
Since the start of operations against Tehran in February, the Navy has carried out strikes and maintained a large-scale naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz, which has led to increased costs for personnel, weapons, and other measures to maintain the fleet's combat readiness.

Experts and former naval officials told the British newspaper The Guardian that funding was bottoming out and warned that funding a war without a clear exit strategy had become the department's biggest challenge.
In July, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth told lawmakers that the war with the Islamic Republic had already cost $35,7 billion, though it remains unclear whether that figure covers all associated costs.
That same month, the Trump administration requested nearly $88 billion in additional funding, including $67,1 billion to cover costs related to the war with Iran.
